Russia, Zabaykalskiy krai, Kodar mountain range, Charskie Peski desert Water from underground rivers gradually erodes the desert and forms sandy "bowls" with steep slopes. In Charskie Peski desert I counted 6 of them. There was a large bowl with a gorgeous view of the Kodar ridge not far from our camp. On the edge of this bowl a small flower caught on to life. It was so amazing to combine in one frame desert sands, a living flower, a riot of autumn colors and snow-capped mountains, illuminated by the first rays of sun.
